As a camp counselor, my co-cabin leader and I were in charge of a group of 11 boys, and we watched over them for 4 days and 3 nights. The only adults at the camp were the students' teachers and the camp's staff - all chaperones for the trip were high school students ranging form grade 10 to 12. We ensured that a schedule was followed, and we were in charge of the students' well being, safety, schedule, and needs. We went on all day hikes, participated and lead activities for the students, and managed their eating, bathing, and sleeping schedules. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, and it was motivational to be a leader to other kids.

The first time I participated as a camp counselor was during my sophomore year, when I was one of four other sophomores chosen out of 30 total high school students. I served as a camp counselor once again during the winter of my senior year.
